Shirley Wilhoit

Jane Gollier (1944-1965) - Jane died while attending the University of Kansas. She would have been a junior at the time of her death. Pallbearers were Hoenie Meiers, Jim Trigg, Charles Gaynor, Jim Wollen, Tom Chappell, and Jim Johnson.

Tom Hodson (1944-1994) - Tom graduated from Emporia State University in 1966. He lived in Overland Park and then moved to Lawrence where he was co-owner and president of Michael's Furniture Store. Tom had a daughter.

Hoenie Meiers (1944-1991) - Hoenie attended college in Boise, Idaho after graduation from OHS. He then served in the Army including a tour in Viet Nam. After his discharge, he attended the prestigious Parsons School of Design in NYC and then ran a successful landscape architecture business in Greenwich until his retirement. Clients included Bette Midler and Walter Cronkite.

Sharon Taylor Greaves(1944-1992) - Sharon and her husband Lou Greaves ultimately moved to Parsons, Kansas, where they ran a successful grocery business as well as in 5 other Kansas cities.? She had three sons.

Jim Trigg (1944-1997) - After graduation from OHS, Jim attended the University of Kansas where he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees. He served in the Army and was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked for NationsBank as a specialist in agribusiness, systems development and as a bank card executive. He had one son.

Terry Reed (1944-1985) -
Terry lived all his life in Ottawa. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and was employed as a bookkeeper and accountant for 16 years by the Franklin County Engineer's Office.

Marilyn Bland (1944-2000) - After graduation from OHS, Marilyn received her Bachelor's degree from Principia College and her master's and doctorate in botany from the University of Michigan. She worked as an environmental ecologist. She took an early retirement and lived in Medford, Oregon; Boulder, Colorado; and Elsah, Illinois. Late in her life she moved to Eudora, Kansas.

Jim Wollen (1944-1991) - After graduation, Jim attended Baker University - he later graduated from the University of Hawaii and Pacific Lutheran University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1970. He taught at the secondary level in Hawaii and later at the University Place School District in Tacoma, Washington. He was also a building contractor.? He was survived by his wife Lori Nilsen Wollen and 2 daughters - Jamie Marie and Erika Lynn.? He is buried in Tacoma.

Gary Brown (1944-1999) - After graduation, Gary attended Pittsburg Vocational School where he graduated in 1964. He was a mechanic? and an injection mold operator. He moved back to Ottawa in 1983 and worked at COF Training Services. He had two sons.

David Hughson (1944-1960) - David died during our sophomore year at OHS of leukemia. His mother, Bonnie, was a counselor at the school.

Sandy Elder Wolfe (1944-2003) - After graduation from OHS, Sandy lived for a time in Arizona. Then she moved to Topeka where she resided until her death. In 1964, she received her certification as an X-Ray Technician through Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Sandy was a homemaker and an office assistant for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod District Office, American Red Cross and Piper Jaffray in Topeka. She had one son.

Doug Pierson (1944-2003) -? After graduation from OHS, Doug served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Wichita State University. He worked at Cessna Aircraft for 37 years and rose to the position of Director of Quality. He married Joy Long in 1966 and had two children - a son and a daughter. At the time of his death, he was living in Independence, Kansas.

Priscilla Harrell Fritts (1944-2004) - Priscilla was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. In the 1960's she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell as well as a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the F.O.E. Auxiliary and served terms as President. She married Frank Fritts in 1966.

Judi Sloan Chinn (1944-2005) - Judi moved to Long Beach, California in 1970 where she lived the remainder of her life. She married John Chinn. She had one daughter.

Bobby Porter (1944-2006) - Bobby lived in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Don Watts (Stevens) (1944-2007) - Don Served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a carpet and tile layer for many companies in Lawrence. He was a member of the F.O.E. He had 3 daughters and one son.

Pauline Wills Turner (1944-2007) - Pauline lived in Ottawa until 1977. She also lived in Pleasanton, Emporia, Manhattan and Topeka. In 1994, she moved to Ozawkie. She married Jerry Lee Turner in 1964. She had two daughters.

Mickie Wheeler Emery(1944-2007) - After graduation, Mickie married Dick Wheeler on April 15, 1962. She lived in Huntington Beach, California until 1991 when she returned to Kansas City. In 2000, she moved to Paradise Point Beach, Missouri. She loved her Lhasa Apsos and her family. She had three sons.

Jeanie McEvoy Lash(1943-2007) - Jeanie moved from Ottawa to Wichita in 1971.? She graduated from the Lawrence Cosmetology School in 1969. She married Duane Lash in 1971. She was a hair stylist.

Jimmy Hollon (1944-2007) - Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Franklin County (KS). He worked as a painting contractor as well as at the Sunflower Plant in Desoto. His hobbies included woodworking and hunting for mushrooms. He had two sons.

Robert Crawford - Robert joined the Marine Corps for three years after high school. Then he worked as a photographer in Topeka, Kansas where he married Betty (Leonard?). They lived on a farm near Lecompton, Kansas belonging to Betty's family and had two children: Mikhail and Chantal Ann. There are some grandchildren, now, also.? While Robert was asleep in the bathtub, one day in (1985?) the house caught on fire and Robert suffocated from smoke inhalation. He is buried in Lecompton. Robert? liked taking photographs and he enjoyed reading and discussing literature and philosophy.

Francisco Ygnacio "Frank" Mora - Frank died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond. He was born Sunday, April 18, 1943, to Jose and Leonarda (Valdovino) Mora at Ottawa. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa and spent some of his life residing in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1962. He worked as a headwaiter at The Alameda Hotel, later called The Ritz Carlton, on Seville Square Plaza in Kansas City, Mo., for 14 years. He was a member of La Sociedad de Guadalupe, Kansas City, Mo., and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Survivors include a brother, Ram?n Mora, Warrensburg, Mo.; a brother, Guadalupe Mora, Ottawa; a sister, Catalina Mora Madrigal, Mexico; and a friend, Burton Blake Mitchell, Kansas City, Mo. Frank was cremated and his remains buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa.

Douglas Linn Henry - died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 in Valley Center, Kansas. He was born in Ottawa to Wilbur Dallas Henry & Edna Dora (Elder) Henry, who preceded him. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; daughter Michelle & Corey Duizendstraal; brother William & Candee Henry, Casa Grande, Ariz. Doug was a quality control manager at FMI in Valley Center.
